Australia first competed in the Winter Olympic Games in 1936 and has been at every games except one since then and yet it was not until the 2002 Games in Salt lake City that we won our first ever Gold Medals – Steven Bradbury in the 1,000 m short track speed skating and Alisa Camplin in the aerials, followed by Dale Begg-Smith’s Gold in the freestyle skiing at the 2006 Games in Turin. Australia is the only country in the Southern Hemisphere to have ever won a Winter Olympic Gold Medal. To commemorate these Gold Medal performances the AOC is proud to release this limited edition lithograph hand signed by our three Gold Medal Winners. Further to this, should Australia win any further Gold Medals at the 2010 Vancouver Games then their signature will be added to this piece prior to delivery.
